Family Yoga!

The past year was hectic for our household. Although we are accustomed to homeschooling-contrary to what many people think-our social schedules were elaborate prior to COVID. Most people have the idea that homeschooling families sit around a table all day and children miss out on socialization. At least that's one of the number one points people bring up when refuting homeschooling. My children were accustomed to play dates, out door activities and educational field trips throughout the year. I started to notice how frustrated the children were from the quarantine. I also noticed the extra "COVID-19 pounds" we all put on from snacking around the clock. My children were bored and bickering. I had to do something.


I wanted to do something that would allow us to rejuvenate our bodies while reconnecting with each other. Yoga seemed perfect for all of our needs. It is physically, mentally and emotionally beneficial for the whole family. I love that it is low impact for me and still fun for the children. I believe the discipline yet playfulness of yoga is nurturing. They are learning to be calm, creative and resilient by challenging their bodies. We stay clear of spiritual connections within some Yoga practices. However, you can always add soothing Quran recitation.


Family yoga is designed to develop strength, balance and flexibility in all ages and abilities. It encourages physical interaction, trust and bonding between parents, children and siblings in a calm, creative space.
